The Sunday we got back I noticed one of the wooden slats over a manhole cover was shifting under Alex's weight, so I gingerly put my weight on it and it gave underneath me, causing me to fall through the gap up to my knee. Saturday was a slow day, Alex and I spent a lot of it with Libby as my back was still bothering me. I got most of the cook for the evening dinner done while Alex was asleep, then the last bit done while he played with Simon. They broke off 2 padlocks and stole some extension leads, so it looks like they were after cable to sell for scrap. I wonder if the scrap man will give a shit that someone is bringing in fully traceable leads with a current PAT test and 'nymr' on the label. Probably not.
